making video cd

Dear sir, I recently scanned 18 pictures (4X6) using a hp
scanjet onto my computer now when I try to put them onto
a disc 650MB, a screen comes up and says my pics contain
6.5GB and to reduce it by 6GB. Should I not be able to
get a lot more pics on a disc than even 18. What's wrong
is it the type of disc or what? I am using a Verbatim
brand new never been used. Help

Scan the pictures at lower resolution (lower dpi) to make the scanned files
smaller. Note that your post does not mention Windows MovieMaker which is
the subject of this newsgroup.
