Making sure folder view options stay put

I do work with sound files and Windows XP is assuming that I want to
view a sound
file as "artists" and "album" and so on but I want to view the date.
I'll change it
in the Options View Folders section but it will change it back.

Is there any hack to make sure it always stays the same?

In Tools, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings section, scroll down
and put check in box for Remember each folders view settings.
