Making RTFs show up in IE

I've asked this question twice without getting a helpful answer, but I
figure a third try can't hurt...

How do I get IE to display RTF files within the browser? When I click
on an RTF, I used to see it in the browser just like a JPG or TXT file.
Since my most recent install, however, it just gives me the standard
download dialog box, with the "Open" option greyed out. How do I fix
this?

Previous I have been told by people here that it can't be done. Well,
with all due respect to the folks who told me that, it isn't true; it
can be done, I've seen it done, I do it myself on a daily basis on my
work computer. It worked on my home computer the last time I installed
XP on it, too, and I didn't have to do anything special for it to work.
I would say it works on more computers I have tried it on that not.
However, for some reason my home computer is not currently in that
category.

IE would have to use either WordPad, MS Word, (or some other
application) in order to display RTF content within the browser
itself. I can't find an option within IE, Tools, Programs, that
would turn that on. The closest is to edit HTML content = use MS
Word. That's how it's setup on my home machine. The only other place
where you might look is:

My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types. Scroll on down
to RTF and see what's listed there. Do that on a machine that you
say you can display RTF content within IE and then compare to yours at
home.

My guess is that on the machine where you can view RTF content within
IE, another application is being used to view it.

You turn it on in Start - Folder Options - File Types - RTF - Advanced - Browse In Same Window. You need another program to actually view it.

Thanks!

To CS, it's definitely Word that does it in my other machines.
