Why would the make this folder private block not be highlighted for folders
on my C: drive. I am attempting to make certain folders inaccessible by
other users on my computer.

Hi,

The option only exists on folders that are under your user profile. For
others, you need to set permissions.

HOW TO: Set, View, Change, or Remove File and Folder Permissions in Windows
XP

Note that this is generally only done with WinXP Pro systems. In a WinXP
Home system, simple file sharing is the default.

Hi
I am not an expert but I think you will find that this security feature is
only available on NTFS formatted drives. If your drive is FAT (32) formatted
(the usual format) it is not available. Goto Start - Help and Support and
type NTFS FAT. then click on 'Choosing between NTFS, FAT, and FAT32' to read
about it.

Cheers
Phil

Have you converted a disc from FAT32 to NTFS before? What are the potential
pitfalls?
