making all subs sharable in xp

Had no problems running peer to peer network on 2win 2000 PC. Replaced one
2000 with XP.
Previously on 2000 if main dir (ex: my photos) was set as sharable, the
whole sub-dir structure under "my photos" would be sharable.
Now on the XP all the sub-directories and sub-sub and sub-sub-sub have to be
made sharable individualy or else I get "access denied" on the 2000 machine
I am sure there is a way around this

Well, it all sort of depends on whether you have enable the XP 'feature'
called Simple File Sharing. See:

Without Simple File Sharing, behavior should be them same as with Win2k.
However, the default share and NTFS permissions are different. You will
probably want to change them.
