Hi

I am using Word 2000. I designed a master letter that I want to use and have
the main content protected. However I need to make changes in the document
ie names addresses etc.

When I attempt to do this it also moves the other character in line screwing
up the format. I did allow blank spaces to fill in this info.

How can I protect the content of the form and allow for the necessary
changes?

Put the form field in an unbordered table cell of fixed dimensions.

What you are talking about - looking for - is probably what Word calls an
"online form." Check this in help. For more about online forms, follow the
links at <URL: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm>
especially Dian Chapman's series of articles. This includes information on
keeping the rest of your text from moving.

Hope this helps,
