Makeing a name only show once after i pull a report

when i run this report the same name shows up multiple times, is there i can
filter it? even if on another page so it will only show up once and ignore
the rest.

You could create a pivot, placing the "Name" col into the ROW and DATA areas.
The ROW area will return the uniques listing that you're after.

Can you let me know how to do that?

Here's some easy steps (in xl2003):
Assume names data in A2 down, with a col header in A1: Name
Select col A, click Data > Pivot Table. Click Next > Next. In step 3, click
Layout, then drag n drop "Name" into the ROW and DATA areas. Click OK >
Finish. Hop over to the pivot in the new sheet to the left for the results.
