I have Word 2003. My problem is that when you open the program sometimes it
opens with about a 1 to 2 inch gap at the top. The program is opened in
maximize view; both sides and bottom touch sides of screen. It is only short
at the top. I have tried Microsoft tech support but they don't seem to
understand or know how to fix it.

Can someone please help me, this is very annoying.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?R2xlbmRh?=,

What's the state of the button that allows you to switch between "Restore" and
"Maximize"? I assume it's set to "Maximize", but I do have to ask... (That's the
button between the "Minimize" button and the "X" to close the application, at
the top right corner of the application window.)

If it is, then the problem must be in pretty deeply, in the system
configuration, and I'm not sure whether it can be fixed without a radical
solution (radical meaning reformatting your harddrive and reinstalling
everything).

About the only thing I can suggest is to try Help/Detect and Repair, but I'm
doubtful that will help at all.

What I'd probably do, if Word is the only application exhibiting the problem,
would be to switch to the "Restore" view, then drag the edges of the window to
fill the screen.
