Make Windows XP look like Windows 2000 to SMS 2.0

Is there a way that a user can modify their PC so that
when SMS 2.0 is looking for all of the systems running
Windows XP, that the system would be identified as
running Windows 2000 Pro? We think that this is probably
a registry hack of some sort. Let me know if anyone has
any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Not really - but why do you need to do this?
Please tell us what you are trying to achieve as there may be a better way
of doing it that does not involve trying to fake anything.
