make USB storage readable only?

Is there any method to make the USB storage drive readable only??

Please advice.

On a computer you always use? On any computer it is connected to?

Either way the first choice has to be to buy the right USB key with the
feature you want in the first place- I beleive some have read only switches-
flick the switch to make read only.
