How can I make msn messenger connect automatically to the internet instead
of saying "We could not sign you in to MSN Messenger..."

Travel to the location of the MSN Messenger servers and fix them?

Seriously, this is not a problem on your end. It is server problem and all
that you can do is wait for it to be repaired and functional again.
