make a task recurr every quarter

Is there a way to make a task recurr on a different schedule than the few
choices listed in Outlook? I have a number of tasks that recurr quarterly,
or biannually, and I can't figure out how to accomplish this. I tried to
make it a monthly task, regenerating every 3 months, but then (of course) it
reverts to monthly after those first three months pass. If I can't do it as
a task, is there another way to track recurring jobs that I'm not thinking of?

You can specify a daily event that occurs every 90 days, a weekly event that
occurs every 12 weeks (although these aren't exact), or a monthly event that
occurs on a specific day every three months,

This is not an "of course". I've never seen what you describe. The
recurrence should revert to every month. What evidence to you have that it
does?

That should read "The recurrence should NOT revert to every month."
