Make a subform transparent

I have a main form with a jpeg as the background. I have a subform
(continuous form) to place on this main form. Is there a way to make the
subform background (which is now gray) transparent so that the picture on the
main form shows through? The data fields on the subform are white which is
fine but I would like to see the photo rather than the big gray box.
