i have a huge problem with trying to defrag my pc. Firstly a pop up
continually appears stating that i have low disk space available on my pc.
So from this i am continually doing a disk clean up. When i have tried to
defrag my pc too it fails to do so and a message appears stating it has
failed to create and empty document. I have not got a clue what that means.
I have tried everything i can to get this pc to defrag but it just isnt
working. I am hoping that by defragging my pc i will not continually get a
pop up stating that i have low disk space available. Can anyone help me with
this matter. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi Jane,

Open My Computer and right click on the drive in question then select
properties.
How much free disk space is there compared to drive size?

In the mean time go to C:\Documents and Settings\User_Name\Local
Settings\Temp
and empty it's contents. A reboot may be necessary to remove all files
and folders.

Right click on the IE icon on the desktop and select properties and
click on Delete Files under "Temporary Internet Files" and again with
a check mark on "Delete all offline contents". Next click on Settings
in the same section and reduce the "Amount of disk space to use".
With a broadband connection 20mb's should be sufficient.

Have you scanned your computer for spyware?

Spyware can fill your disk as fast as you can clean it up.
