Do you mean seting up a mail program to acess your isp's mmail server or do
you mean setting up a SMPT or POP 3 mail server ??

It really depends on what you want to do. Based on your posts, I
wouldn't suggest trying to run your own mail server. Running a mail
server requires a high degree of skill and knowledge about security
issues. I wouldn't run a mail server on anything but a server operating
system either (or one of the *nixes).

If you seriously want help with this, post back with details of exactly
what you are trying to do and the environment in which you are trying
to do it (network, ISP permissions, etc.).

There is a very easy to use package called "MailEnable" which you can
download from the web. Its basic package allows you to set up an SMTP,
IMAP, POP, some mailing lists and newsgroups. But if you want a web
interface and some of the more advanced features then you have to
purchase the more advanced edition.
