I have a web site with web based emails that automatically FWD send to my
everyday real email address.
Theses emails_ forms emails are sent by job applicants etc.
I want to reply to them from my normal email set up in Microsoft outlook_
but under the account web (e-mail address removed). I want the receiver to
see this email address and not my real_private one.
I can send as email as (e-mail address removed) successfully except for one major
annoying problem.
Everytime MO sends the reply email from (e-mail address removed). it also wants to
do a receive and comes up with log on incomming errors and wants passwords
etc.
How do I instruct it to forget about recieving on this account and only send
from it??
Thanks in advance
Isagold

Hi Isagold,

You should be able to set up a second account on Outlook to send to your web
service SMTP with authentication (user/pass) and set the POP3 to your
regular email. When you reply to the form sender with this second account
(Click the account button on any new email to choose the sending account),
then you are also doing a harmless check of your main regular email account.

Hi There Create Window & others,

How do I stop this error from popping up and continually interfeering with
my general work.
Task 'website- receiving reported error ( 0x80040900: the server name you
entered can not be found on the network ( it might be down) Please verify
that you are online and that the server name is correct.
Should I be entering in some of the upload information of the web server?

( not real addresses etc)
This is how I have set it up in office outlook. It sends perfectly using the
web based email but errors on receiving.
eg Set up in Microsoft office outlook
MAIL ACCOUNT NAME: website
INTERNET EMAIL SETTINGS POP3:
user Inf: Isagold
Email address (e-mail address removed)

LOGON INFORMATION:
Username: Isagold
Password ********

SERVER INORMATION:
Incoming Mail server ( pop3 ) mail.australia.com ( my landline email server)
outgoing mail server(SMTP) mail.australia.com

( my real email would be for eg (e-mail address removed), with the above pop3 and
smtp)

Cheers and thanks

Hi Isagold,

Does your website ISP have settings for the POP3 server? I'm NQ sure what
is going on; but it seems you are trying to retrieve POP3 emails from a
server that does not exist. It should be something like
pop.yourgreatwebsite.com (for Yahoo for example).
Maybe check their online help?

SMTP will almost always work outgoing using your regular
mail.Australia.com - so you can send to your FORM submitting people using
that. But if you have a US based Web hosting account they have specific
instructions for sending SMTP to their server. Godaddy for example has a
secureserver in Arizona and that _needs_ a user/pass to SEND emails.

Anyway - I hope I have helped a little?

Dear CreateWindow,
Thank you for your reply. Yes that was the problem. I had to put in my web
based passwords and user name and its imcoming mail server out going didn't
matter.
Thanks so much for prompting me in the right direction.
Have a great week
Cheers Isagold

Open the properties of the send/receive group containing that account and
disable the option to receive.
