mail on laptop & desktop

You can enable saving the mail on the server, and get copies on both
machines.
Under Windows Mail, click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email account,
then Properties, then Advanced. If there is no check mark in the box before
Leave a copy of message on server, click on this box and then Apply. One
or both of the machines should be set to eventually delete the messages, to
keep
from getting so many on it that it refuses to accept more. Click on Apply,
then
OK, then Close. Do the same on the other machine it it uses Windows Mail,
or the equivalent if it uses some other email program.
 
Many ISPs allow you to set up multiple email addresses. If yours does you
can use separate email addresses for your laptop & desktop.
 
Email is not sent to a specific computer. It is sent to a mailbox on
the recipient's mail server. It is up to each computer that wants a
copy to retrieve it from that mail server.
If you have more than one computer downloading your email, each
computer must be configured to leave a copy on the server.
