I have a Word Document that is a Mail Merge document
template that was created in Word 1998, upgraded to 2000,
and is not also used by several users in versions 2000 and
XP.

I have a MS Excell spreadsheet database where data is
inserted into cells and also created in Word 1998,
upgraded to 2000, and is not also used by several users in
versions 2000 and XP.

When a User with MS 2000 Word uses the mail merge, all the
formating of the Spreadsheet cells comes over (i.e.,
currency/dollar signs)into the merged document.

When a User with MS XP Word used the mail merge, the
formating in the Spreadsheet cells Do NOT come over, so
they show up as plain ascii text or numbers.

What can be done to cure the XP problem and be successful
in carrying the Spreadsheet formatting over to the Word
document? I've been unsuccessful in trying to adjust the
Spreadsheet formatting from general, to currency, to
accounting formats -- same ascii text comes over.

Thanks

You might want to post this to one of the MS Office / Word / Excel
newsgroups. Here is a list of all MS newsgroups:
