Mail.EXE Error 0X800C0155,2 and User Account Control Off On

I had an Access application the was installed in C:\Program Files\BMS folder
and it needed to create a text file, which didn't seem to be working. What I
did was turn off User Account Control and the application worked fine, just
like it did in XP. When I turned on User Account Control everything seems to
work ok except Windows Mail keeps coming up with this error and Windows Mail
wont start up.

Also on a side note, I am using AVG which doesn't seem to have anything to
do with this problem because when its off, Mail still doesn't start up.

I did one more test and turned on User Account Control and Windows Mail
works fine. If I turn it off, Windows Mail wont start up.

Any thoughts?

What program is Mail.exe supposed to run? It isn't the correct program for
Windows Mail, which uses WinMail.exe instead.

Also if you used the standard install for AVG, you may need to make it more
compatible with Windows Mail by uninstalling it, then doing a custom install
where you tell it to leave out the part that scans email.

If you still get error messages, you're likely to get more help if you right
click on them and copy the entire error messages, not just the error
numbers, to your next message.
 
I did do a custom install for AVG, but AVG has nothing to do with the problem
at all. This happened when I switch off User Account Control and the switched
it back on again.

The only way I can get Outlook Express to work is by Switching off User
Account Control and Outlook Express works fine.

Are you sure? The rest of us haven't been able to make Outlook Express
work under Vista at all.
 
Sorry about that, I ment Windows Mail. This problem only occurred when I
switch off User Account Control and then switched it back on again. Now
Windows Mail only load when User Account Control is turned off
