Hi,

I have my client setup to download mail to local system when I have new mail. My Outlook is showing me the number of mails like 10. But when I count my mails I have only 7. Where is other three mails?. I have this issue, Pls someone help me what is going there.

Thank you,
Pacha.

Check your deleted or junk file, most likely they are there. Or if you have
selected a rule to remove from server, it downloaded the total message
count, but when it got to the ones you want deleted it did as it was told.
The count of emails is usually correct. The only time that you might see a
extra email listed is if the sender turned on the option to split the
message if it is larger then a certain size.

I'm receiving the same error on 3 different users! I
checked deleted and junk mail but no luck. The no# is
showing in blue as if it was a new message. Deleted
everything from inbox, ran inbox repair tool, rebooted
still showing incorrect message count.

Thank you
Eric

Look to see what view you have selected. If it is selected to "las
seven days" then it will show the total number of emails in the count
but you can only see a few of them. It will also say filter applie
next to the email count.

I had an issue with emails not showing up in my
Outlook2003, but the Exchange server was showing them as
being received.
Turns out there was some kind of conflict between my
previously used "Junk E-mail" folder (with Rules) and the
one created by the new function "Cached Exchange Mode".
When I turned Cached Mode back off, my missing emails
suddenly appeared in my previously used "Junk E-mail"
folder....
Maybe you have something similiar happening...?
