Unlike most requests about junk email, I am trying to stop outlook from
automatically transfering to teh 'junk email' folder.

The specific problem occurs on an outlook 2000 client attaching to
Exchange 2003 server.

My user is suddenly (and I cannot track down why) getting mail
automatically trasnferred to his junk email folder.

The problem is the mail isn't junk!

The problem does not appear to be a setting on the local install of
outlook - the same issue occurs on two different PCs.

He doesn't have any filtering rules on that are pointing mail to the
junk folder.

This feels like it is server based - any ideas?

Probably the Intelligent Message Filter has been installed on the server
and the criteria have been set too strictly. Check with your SysAdmin.

Hi there

Yes the client is Outlook 2000. It is very strange it appeared to have
"created" the junk folder itslef. It can be deleted (unlike system
folders).

No we don't have IMF loaded on the exchange server.

There seems no rhymyn or reason why the mail being chosen to be sent
to the junk mail folder is being sent. In a couple of instances the
are a phrase of text. The email address of the sender is perfectly
legitimate.

Well...it's either a rule or a third-party anti-spam program like
SpamBayes or Norton AntiSpam or something like that. Which anti-virus
program do you have installed?

Norton AV corporate edition. We run the client on each PC updated
automatically from a server that downloads virus defs automatically.

I can't find any rules on under the organiser wizard. This is the only
way I know of for setting up automatic rules in outlook...

Are you running the AntiSpam module of Norton too?

If you go to Tools | Rules Wizard you should get the most complete look at
what Rules are running.
