Macros

I don't know if I'm in the right area for discussion with this topic, but I
need to know how to enable and disable macros. And also, why I would need to
enable or disable macros in the first place.

I am attempting to add Dymo LabelWriter software to my computer but I am
unable to install it because of something to do with macros. They are
disabled when they need to be enabled.

I get the impression that you have to enable or disable macros individually
by program... if this is the case than I'm in trouble! Unless by some freak
chance it's the same method for each program.

If anyone can help, or at least direct me to the right message board, I
would appreciate it!

Thanks

It's a good thing for all of us that we can disable macros, because
otherwise as soon as we load the document we could be infected with a
virus if the document was "tainted". The Microsoft products control
macros under Tools/Options/Security/Macro Security. For your case you
would want to enable the macros because they are not "tainted", but are
the code that helps install and configure the software. However, it's
good to keep the option to enable/disable on a document by document
basis. Also it's good to have anti virus software keeping a constant watch.
