I've heard that it's not good to have this loaded. But a lot of windows
require it.
I usually load it and then remove it.

What is your opinion regarding leaving it active?

Thanks,
Doug

I removed all traces of the POS from my machine before Macromedia even
thought about buying Adobe.

When I still had the POS installed, I used SpywareBlaster to set the Kill
Bit for Flash.

<quote>
Flash Killer: Macromedia Flash can be used to display animated interfaces on
websites, animations, and other "Flash" content. Unfortunately, advertisers
have begun to use Flash as a method for creating annoying and distracting
content. And some users that wish to keep Flash off of their computers
altogether have found it troublesome to prevent every website that uses
Flash from installing it. Flash Killer can set the kill bit for the
Macromedia Flash control (versions 4.x, 5.x, or 6.x) - preventing the
installation completely and disabling it if it is already installed.
Reversing this procedure is easy.

Little reason not to, unless it annoys you. If you run a Gecko-based
browser, such as SeaMonkey, Mozilla, of Firefox extensions are available
that will kill Flash until you click on it...or choose to allow the page.

Thanks Wesley,
I like the idea of being able to toggle it on when I want to and vice-versa.
But I couldn't get the website to come up on the URL below.
Don't know why....

Is "FlashKiller" a better way to go?

Thanks Dev,
I use Internet Explorer 7. I guess you're saying that it doesn't have the
"Kill/Turn on" capability??

Doug,

I have no idea if these work with IE7, they are supposed to work with IE6.
