Is there a simple way to record a macro that will spell check in Spanish without changing my default dictionary?

If the text is formatted as Spanish (select the text, then Tools | Language
| Set Language: Spanish), the Spanish proofing tools will be used
automatically.

No, I'm afraid macros are outside my area of expertise.

Suzanne,
I recorded the macro to select the text and spell check using the Spanish
dictionary. At the end I get the message Word has finished checking the
selection. Do you want to check the rest of the document, even though I
answered no when I was recording the macro. Any idea why the message still
appears when I run the macro?

Your answer 'no' is not recorded in the macro.
The point of the language settings is that Word uses the appropriate
dictionary when checking the specifically marked text, so if you have a
paragraph formatted as Spanish and another formatted as English, the
appropriate dictionaries will be used for each (if available).
The simplest plan, therefore is to create a paragraph style with the
language parameter set as Spanish and apply this to your Spanish text -
spelling errors will be marked (if you have the option set to check spelling
as you type).
