I was recording a Macro and I accidently hit the "x" and
closed the recorder dialog box. I stoped recording (from
the menu), deleted the Macro and attempted to start
recoding it again. When I select "Record Macro" I no
longer get the "Recording Macro" box. I can see that I
am recording by looking at the status bar. I have not
figured out how to make this box re-appear. Does anybody
have any suggestions? I am very frustrated!

THANKS!

Laurie, view, toolbars, stop recording.

Paul, thanks for your quick response!

I know how to stop recording. My question is that I
cannot get the dialog box to re-appear when I go to use
the record macro function again. I have to keep going to
the toolbar to stop recirding. I need the option of
absolute or relative reference and I cannot get that from
the toolbar.

Thanks
Laurie

Record a macro, then while recording do view>toolbars, check the stop
recording toolbar,
stop the recording but DO NOT click the X to close the stop recording
toolbar.
Delete the macro, next time you record a macro it will pop up

Peo:

My point is that I DID hit the X (by accident) to close
the stop recording toolbar (I think that is what I am
calling the macro recording dialog box). Now, no matter
what I do, the box (recording toolbar) does not re-appear.

Thanks,
Laurie

Try Tools>Customize>Toolbars. Scroll down to "Stop Recording" and checkmark
it. Should become visible on the sheet.

Record some throwaway macro and make sure you use the "Stop Recording" button.

You already know what happens when you hit the "X".

Your date is a bit off. Surely, not on purpose.

Thanks, Don. No idea how that happened. I sometimes open the Date/Time
dialog to use it as a visual calendar and must have hit the wrong button
when I exited out of it.

Regards,

Vasant.
