Hi folks,

Just a quick ?... Is there a method to manually remove macros from Outlook
2003 and the rest of the Office 2003 Suite? Had a program that went bad
(Winfax) and then the uninstall portion could not be activated. Tried going
through the registry and removing instances of "winfax" but the macros still
remain hooked into Office.

This generates errors when using/exiting from programs which have Winfax
Macros in place. Checked the registry for the exact macro wording but
nothing was found. Therefore assume they are retained elsewhere... just
don't know where!

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Len

-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data
-Creating a Permanent New Mail Desktop Alert in Outlook 2003

Thanks for the response!

Been there and found that the offending macros can not be deleted through
that dialogue box, the option is "greyed out". Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Len

Hello Roady,

Unfortunately there is nothing listed under the COM section at all. The
screen simply provides a blank window. These are general macros that also
effect the rest of the office application. I did find a winfax.ini but that
had nothing that would point to it as the source.

I was just hoping that there was an .ini or .sys type file that loads the no
longer existent macros so they could be removed. When going into VB it
states that the "Project" which contains all of the Winfax macros is
"locked" and leaves one with nothing that can be done!

Any other thoughts or ideas?

Thanks for your efforts!

I'd look in the Normal.dot template for Word and also see if Word is loading any other templates at startup.

Sue!

You are my hero or so it appears. Checked out your lead, followed path to
location where the item was loading from and removed from Startup. This
appears to have done the trick as the errors in both Word and Outlook appear
to have been cured!

Thank you for making the correct suggestion and assistance. I much
appreciate!
