I am using Macro Field's in a large document. Can I link
macro fields to autofill? If for example the user
inserts the current year can it autofill the remaining
macro fields that also prompt for the year?

Thank-you

There is no such thing in Word as a "Macro field"; nor is
there anything called "autofill". Please be more exact about
what you have and are trying to do. And please include the
version of Word in which you are working.

Clarification
Macrobutton Field
Word 2003
When I place a value in a Macrobutton field can it
autopopulate other selected macrbutton fields with the
same value?
Also, currently in the template Overtype is selected.
This works fine for Macrobutton fields that are not
adjacent to other text. Is is possible to select the
macrobutton field; overtype the "prompt text" but not
overtype the text next to the field?

Thanks,

You shouldn't need Overtype enabled to use the MacroButton fields provided
you have "Typing replaces selection" enabled. By default, clicking in a
field selects the entire field, which is why MacroButton fields work this
way. But when you type, you're replacing the field with plain text, and
there is no way for this to be bookmarked or referenced elsewhere. If you
need this sort of behavior, you need to be using form fields instead.
