Every time I open Word, I get a dialog box that indicates that I have disabled macros. It will not let me proceed until I click ok on that box and a second box that pops up. The same is true when I exit a file that I have just generated. How do I turn this feature off? I do not use macros in Word and this is a very big nusance every time I open a file

Thank you.

The message you are getting is probably "Macros in this project have been
disabled." That has nothing to do with any macros you might have created. It
merely indicates that (1) you have your macro security set to High, and (2)
a global template or add-in contains or is trying to run macros.

In the latter case, you have several options: (a) you can set the macro
security to Medium (Tools | Macro | Security), which will give you a chance
to enable the macros and perhaps agree to trust the source of the macros (it
will be added to your list of Trusted Sources), and (b) on the Trusted
Sources tab, you can choose to "Trust all installed templates and add-ins,"
which will cover the templates and add-ins in your template folders and
Word's Startup folder.

Unfortunately, the trust does not extend to the Office Startup folder, so if
you have add-ins there, you will have to either revert to (a) or remove the
add-in. To see what add-ins might be involved, see
