I recently loaded Power Point 2003 on my PC running XP.
When my client sends me the files from a MAC I get an
error message telling me I (Powerpoint can't read C:....)
When I bring them to another computer running 2002 it
opens fine.

Is there a setting in 2003 I need to set? I have to
resolve this ASAP

Have you added the critical updates to your copy of PPT? To check, go to
Help-->Check For Updates and click the update link on the webpage that comes
up.

Thanks that worked

I have the same problem. Mesg. reads "Covert with Bin Hex
4.0" I have to send file to another PPT user to send back
to me, then it will open. The MS converter tool did not
help. Any ideas?

Which version of PPT are you using?

If 2003, have you gone to Help/Check for Updates and installed the critical
patch for Office 2003?

What happens if you open PowerPoint and then navigate to the file and try to
open it?

It's not a .SIT file, is it? (Mac equivalent of WinZip...)

When your client sends these files to you, it's not via AOL, is it? (ISTR
this bin hex issue with AOL's mime encoding many years ago...)

Except that this isn't the same problem at all.

Your Mac user is apparently sending you a file that's been converted to a
special format that's normally used only between Mac users.

Are they emailing it to you or ???
