I have a westell wireless modem which could use the MAC address for security.
How can one find the MAC address from a vista? I used to do it from the
command prompt. I don't think I knew how to get the command prompt from vista

Click on the Vista 'button', and then on RUN.. type 'cmd' (no parentheses)
and stand well back.. :)

Hi,

In the start search box on the start menu type 'cmd' and hit return, this
will display command prompt. In command prompt type 'ipconfig' hit return
and the mac shall be displayed.

Hope this helps.

To view the MAC address:

Right click on the Network icon on your Vista desktop
then click on "Manage Network Connections"
then click on the adapter of interest and press the "Details" button
Next to the words "Physical Address" you will find the MAC address

Yes I know, but the question asker knows how to do it in Cmd. Perhaps you
should tell him.

To see the MAC address, use the ipconfig /all command
Look for the Physical Address line
