You should be able to select a standard windows operating system at
bootup. You can usually do this by using the arrow up down keys.

Richard,

I'm having a similar problem. My system stops responding, somtimes as early
as the login screen, sometimes after I enter my password, sometimes after my
desktop loads, but the task bar (with the "start" button) won't come up. My
mouse will move, but nothing can be selected. I have to hit the reset button.
Usually a second reboot works, sometimes it takes two or three.

I've used the F8 on bootup and enabled logging, and have captured the
drivers that loaded and didn't load on a failed bootup, in case one is
hanging and causing the problem. But I don't know how to interpret it.

I'm hoping to find some help here.
