I use juno as my internet provider. I was receving at 47k bps, I reinsalled
window xp do to a virus, Now with juno I recivce only at 26k bps or less.
Juno, dell and micro soft has not been able to help me. My lucent modem
wisord say it's ok, it is set up to receive at 115,000k bps. Juno uses v.90
and 2x that i don't think i'm set up for. no idea why i'm not.

I'm in the hills of VW, the phone company says my line is ok.
DSL is not offered here.

I'd like to get back the receiving at 47k bps.

You can e-mail me at (e-mail address removed)
Underlined links help a lot. My knowlage level on pc's and window xp is low.

Help me please

Xp has a generic driver for Lucent winmodem. Dig in your pile of CD's
for the driver that came with your modem. Failing that, you can try to
get an updated one from windows updates. After that, it's a hunt for
whoever made the modem. Lucent just makes the chips. Lucent winmodems
are a bitch to Identify, they foil system Identification tools, you
have to inspect the modem circuit board.

Since I don't know what you've already done, first make sure your
computer is completely virus/malware-free:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Once you know the computer is clean, if the problem persists uninstall
Juno and reinstall it. If the problem persists after that, uninstall
the modem and reinstall it.

Also, do not ever post your real, unmunged email address on Usenet
(where you are posting now) or messageboards. It will be harvested by
spambots. Here is a link explaining that:
