low disk space error

The Gimmer

My machine running Win XP Pro SP2, has a harddrive that is partitioned into
two drives, C: & D:. I only use D: to store data, and is a small partition.
It is full, which I'm aware of and ok, but everytime I boot up, I endup with
a error and icon in my toolbar telling me it is low in disk space and if it
can free up space.

I don't want or need this error. My question is how do I turn this off?

Thanks in advance, and a Happy Holiday Season to all....

You gave him the answer to his question
but shooting the messenger is not the right way
to proceed.

You need to go the extra mile. I would drop the
MVBT if you cannot do that!

Hope this helps.

Gerry the OP said he knew the drive was low on space. There is no real
underlying problem to fix, is there?

Yes there is Rock. The better was answer was
to create more disk space, which will make the
message go away before problems get worse.
Now, courtesy of Curt, when the OP is
forced to resolve the problem they will no longer
receive an early warning when the problem
resurrects itself. I doubt the OP will think to
reverse what they have done.

Also suggesting registry hacks to solve a minor
problem when you have no certain idea of the OP's
level of computer skills is not the most sensible
advice to give.

I think the OP knows how they can fix their space issue by getting a bigger
drive. They just want a way to stop the message. What is the big deal
here?

I am leaving you to debate this one with yourself.
The exchange is going no where.

Hi Gerry,

I've been reading your helpful posts for a *long* time now--but I must
disagree with you here. I answered *exactly* what the OP asked, and nothing
more. Well a little bit more...I told him to work in the Registry at his
own risk, which I felt was warning enough that what he may undertake could
be dangerous. I went as far as I was asked, and as far as I felt I *should*
morally.

BTW, do you know what BD-MVBT means ? <g>

you can use AOMEI Partition Assistant allocate free space from your C drive to D drive, then D will be expanded and thelow disk space warning message will not pop up.
