Loud "beeping" noises on startup and "resume" with Dell Inspiron 1150

My laptop started making loud beeping noises upon startup
and resuming from standby, every time. their are about 3-5
beeps, which repeat 2-3 times. Sounds like morse code.

i have system suite and have run every diagnostic and
repair wizard it has, to no avail.

can anyone help?

My Suggestions:

It is always a good idea to install the latest available BIOS
update to enhance the performance of your computer.

Visit http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
and type in your Dell Service Tag Number and you'll be able to download the correct
BIOS update designed for your specific model Dell computer. Also, you should
download and install the latest Dell audio drivers....remember to uninstall the old ones first.

The beeping is a coded error message coming from your
motherboard. It usually tells you that hardware is
failing/has failed. For instance, on my motherboard, a
rapid three beep code repeated three times tells me that
a memory chip has failed. Etc......
