lost xp pro disk

my xp pro disk is lost or stolen. xp pro is installed.
can i use my brother's disk to re install?
 
Yes, but you'll have to use your own product key when you activate. You
won't be able to share your brother's key.

If it is the same version and you use your own Product Key then that should
be alright. You can tell if your key will work with his disk by popping his
disk into a computer and select Install->Upgrade[recommended]->accept the
Agreement and then enter YOUR Product key into the boxes. If it accepts your
key and moves to the next screen just cancel the installation and no harm is
done. If your Product Key won't work with his CD then you'll get and
"Invalid Key" error.

You can get your Product Key by downloading KeyFinder, free, from
www.magicaljellybean.com. It will display your Windows PK as well as Office if
you have it installed.
