I've somehow lost my Windows XP CD and I need to reload Windows due to a
system crash when trying to remove SP2...is there any alternative to buying
the OS...?...my compter is just out of warranty and Dell so Delll won't give
me a new CD
Thanks in advance...

If Dell originally provided their version of Windows XP,
only Dell can replace that CD. Your Dell furnished
Product Key will not work with a different Windows XP CD.

Since they won't give you one, then that means you will have to BUY a
replacement from them. The only Windows XP version that will work with the
CD Product Key you have is another version from Dell. Sorry for the bad
news, but that is the way it is...

The only other option is to buy a full copy of Windows XP and use the CD
Product Key that comes with it, not the one that originally came with your
computer...

Most likely it would be cheaper to buy your copy from Dell...
