Lost volume control and no audio device

I just recently had to re-install my copy of windows XP, as the version I was
using, was an illegal OEM copy. After I did the installation, I lost my
volume control icon and under 'Sound and Audio Properties', it says no audio
device.
Can someone help me correct this problem, please.

Hi,

You may want to install the Audio drivers for your sound card. Check the software CD that came with
your soundcard/computer and that should contain the sound drivers. Also, you can download the latest
drivers from the soundcard manufacturer's website.
