lost the ability to save anything to decktop

I need help with this concern, I am unable to save any files to the
desktop.has anyone seen this befor.

I'm sorry, but you haven't provided enough information to get focused
help. It could be anything from malware to a too-full hard drive or
messed up permissions.

this concern started about 4 day's ago-desktop started to act funny-if you
transfer a file to notebook from any sorce-and try to save or save as
-nothing happens, system freezes up, you can save to the desktop if you
import a file from another location,or program and already have a file
located at the desktop.also wallpaper picture disappeared.This all happened
after downloading a 3D solitare game and removing it.

Are you the original poster, just using a different name of this post?
Since the problems occurred right after downloading and installing
software, here are two suggestions:

1. Do a System Restore to before you downloaded the game. Your data
should not be affected.
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
"Restore my computer to an earlier time"

2. It would be wise to make sure the computer is malware-free:

system is malware free-use webroot-to many changes to other files to perform
a restore after concern was found .I was able to get notpad to save
files-Word still has a lock up concern when files are saved.Could this be a
bad file inside word?for the time being,I worked out a temp fix-saving files
to MY DOC folder
