lost text

When I type in Word, Notebook, complete words, or portions of words
disappear. What causes this, and hot to fix. Thanks for your help.

Without more complete information, I would speculate there is something
wrong with your keyboard (including interference from a nearby device
like a telephone) or your video display driver needs updating.
 
Not sure what could be wrong with my keyboard, it's less than 6 months old.
No interference from nearby device. Checked for update video display driver,
not that either..What other info would be pertinent to the problem?

Other details:

Is it just Word & Notebook (notepad)? Or text typed anywhere?

Which text disappears: the last thing you typed, or random blocks on the
page? Is it deleted or is it just not displayed?

Did this start recently or has it been going on a long time? Does it
happen all the time, or just occasionally?

Is it just certain fonts/faces that are affected?
 
I lose text mostly when I'm typing in Word or WordPad. I'll just be typing
away and when I look up at the screen, one or more words just don't display.
Sometimes part of a word. It also happens when I send email. In fact, lost a
few words typing this message. This problem started about 2 weeks age. Not
restricted to any particular font. I run a virus scan on a regular basis, at
least once a week.
