My brother is having a problem with a computer I set up
for my mom. Whenever he trys to open a page on IE an
alert pops up staing that the page can't be viewed
without entering the supervisors password. At the top of
the alert it says content advisor. This seems like reg
edit to fix since no one knows of ever turning on the
content advisor part of the program and we cant find any
passwords. He cant view any pages at all on the internet.
Can someone walk me through the reg edit if thats what it
takes to fix this prob?

Hello Zorba,

For this specific issue, you will need to call in for Phone support as this
is a security issue. Please review the following KB article -

155609 Cannot Remove a Forgotten Internet Explorer Ratings Password

Hello Zorba,

Just an FYI. The content advisor calls are not normally charged and the
cost of calling support would not be $250 unless you wanted to call
Professional level support. Consumer level support is only $35 and would
be able to handle this type of call, but again you would normally not be
charged for a content advisor issue. This is stated in the KB article that
-

155609 Cannot Remove a Forgotten Internet Explorer Ratings Password
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=15560

"NOTE: In special cases, charges that are normally incurred for support
calls may be canceled, if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that
only a password reset will resolve your problem. Normal support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for
the specific password reset in question."

Hopefully this clears things up.
