After installing sp2 for windows xp home , with media player 10 also
installed, I can no longer find the "safe to remove hard ware" taskbar tray
icon. If I go to properties it is moved to "past items". I have got it back
with system restore, but only until the next reboot. Is this a short cut with
a folder I can go to and open? Is there a way to restore things on this "past
items" list in task bar properties? I need to shut down an external hard
drive. I would like to stay on stand-by mode if I can. Thanks.

So it's not just me?

I installed XPPro+SP2 from scratch, and the "Safe to Remove" icon keeps
disappearing. This is a real pain, as I have a notebook with a bay that
accepts interchangeable DVD/CD-RW, floppy, and second hard disk; this is
on top of the various USB-connected devices I want to be able to attach
and detach.
