Lost Product Key

I recently had a need to re-install my XP.
Unfortunately, I have somehow lost the product key. Is
there a way to get either a copy of the key, or a generic
key from Microsoft? If so, does anyone know what the cost
is? Or am I just out of luck and have to buy another copy
of the XP upgrade?

Hi!
Actually, if you registered and activated your product with
Microsoft, you can obtain a new key by calling them
directly, respond to their questions, and they charge a few
$ for the new product key.
