lost part of page

I've lost the blue column on the left that allows you to do many things when
looking at a file in My Docs? I have looked everywhere I can think to show
this toolbar. Please help!

1. Open a folder window > Tools > Folder options
[OR]
Control Panel > Folder options
[OR]
Start > Run > control folders > Click OK

2. Select "Show common tasks in folders"

3. Click OK
