1. I had outlook problems due to some virus issues. I was able to get my
primary folder (.pst) file to link to Outlook. I can see my contacts folder
is intact. However, when I create a new message, the check addresses is not
working. I clicked on Tools -> Address book, I get an error message 'The
address list could not be opened. The Contacts folder associated with the
address list could not be opened...may have been moved or deleted, you do not
have permissions...etc'

How do I associate my contacts folder with the address list? Please advise.

2. My desktop is not populating properly. I can see the desktop files under
my name; however, the generic desktop for 'all users' is displaying on my
desktop and not the additional files. Please advise.

Thanks,
Rajiv

1. If your contacts are ok, this indicates that the pst file should be ok.
To verify, run the scanpst tool (microsoft download). If pst is ok, try to
repair your Office installation from the install CD

2. Are you sure you are logged in under your own name? Do you log in with
user name + password or do you use autologin? If using autologin this could
be messed up. Use xp powertoy TweakUI to fix. You may also try to repair
icons using this tool.
