My Power Options quit working in Windows XP SP2. If I
attempt to Save a new power scheme I get an error box
entitled "Power Policy Manager Unable to Set Policy" with
the description of the error "Indicates two revision
levels are incompatible". This happens no matter what
values I enter in any of the pull downs (even None).

I've tried closing all running programs and experimenting
with all the BIOS power management parameters without any
success. I'm not really sure if this is related to
installing SP2 but believe the Power Options became
erratic shortly after installing SP2.

Anybody have any ideas on this one?

Is your computer an OEM like Sony or HP? Is it a laptop? If the answer
to either question is "yes" then go to the computer mftr.'s website and
see if there is updated power management software for your computer.
