I read recently how to drag the news menu entry to the "Go" menu
(Tools\Customize\Commands; then select "Go" in the Categories column and
"News" in the Commands column and drag it to the Go menu). I did this and
it showed up. Unfortunately, when I rebooted, it no longer showed "News" on
the Go menu, nor was it among the choices to add to it any longer. Can
somebody tell me how to fix this? Thanks.

Shall we assume your Outlook version is 2003?
If so, to get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control
Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

Yes, I am using OL 2003. So sorry not to have mentioned it before. You
were so polite as well as perceptive.

Thank you for the clear, thorough and simple answer. It worked beautifully.
Thanks.
