While attempting to remove Windows Messenger, I
inadvertently removed my Windows games (freecell,
solitare, etc.) I tried to reverse the process by going
to control panel, add/remove windows components, then
making sure that accessories\games were checked before I
proceeded to add the components. Still no games... How
can I get them back?

Perform the following:

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select: NEW > SHORTCUT
2. In the Create Shortcut window, type in (or copy and paste):
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Games" , and click "Next"
3. In the next window, type in: Games , and click "Finish"
4. A Games folder shortcut icon will appear on your Desktop.
