lost my sound?

I recently lost the sound to my computer. I have no idea
why this happened. I had this problem once before when I
updated the directx windows update. This time I didn't do
that and I still can't figure out what to do. Any ideas?
the troubleshoot on my computer did not help. I'm running
winxp with insightbb.com
 
Wrong newsgroup; this one is for Outlook.

Anyway, make sure you installed the correct driver for your soundcard and
that it is not muted.
