Hi All

Was doing some removal of spyware and somehow lost my IE6 Icon?? did a
system restore but still no go, obvious I can get to the internet , so I
feel pretty dumb asking and yes I did do a search on Kelly's page and others
but still can't find the answer. Something to do with my task bar?? I guess
, but instead of constant guessing I will go to the experts.
Thanks In Advance

If you have a desktop icon:

Right click on the icon, select "create shortcut."
Drag shortcut into place on the Quick Launch toolbar.

Hi!Gene!

Right click on the desktop > properties
Chose Desktop and customize desktop. There u can
mark whitch IE icon You want.

Sorry for the confusion, let me try again...the Big Blue E , the same one i
use to connect to the internet with my home page being set at msn.com. And
as for the other response which I thank you all for, If I had a way of
seeing the Big Blue E which I assume stands for Internet Explorer, not
windows explorer if I had a way to drag it to the quick launch bar I would.
Thanks again in advance

Which icon are you refering to? IE has lots.

You mean on the desktop? Or you want to put one in QL. You can drag from the
Start Menu to QL. Or r/c a blank spot on desktop and choose New - Shortcut
and put iexplore in it. Drag it to QL. If you mean desktop try the other
person's approach and if that doesn't work (unhides it) post back and I send
a fix (in prev versions they couldn't be hidden so people deleted them).

Or if you mean Start Menu post back also.

Yes. You can make as many shortcuts as you wish by:
Start
All Programs
Right-click IE
Create shortcuts (they appear at bottom of list)
Drag to destination

For taking the time to answer me , seems like this should be a simple task
and I understand what you are telling me to do, but I have either to much
<active stuff> running in the bottom taskbar or something else is just not
clicking with my brain...probably the latter!. My desktop is arranged in the
windows xp view (not the old classic view) thus I have no icons showing on
my desktop, and access everything from my bottom task bar, the only way I
can get the IE icon to appear is by choosing to show desktop icons which
then puts every icon on my desktop which is a mess...I can get to the IE
icon by clicking on the >> symbol on my taskbar for it shows the desktop,
but I know I had the big Blue E there before and will keep plugging away
until i get the thing back.Already done two system restore points with no
success so I don't think I ought to mess with that, will just keep trying to
figure this out somehow. But I do certainly appreciate your time and
patience with me.

yep its a shame I can do web pages but can't figure out what why 1+1
sometimes = 3??? :)

Thanks David and all the others for the help. It was ME! all along per
usual. I got it back , simply had to make my taskbar bigger and then drag
the big Blue Sucker to the task bar, then I locked the thing! Sorry for
taking so much of this groups time for such a stupid question...but being a
product of the Vietnam War I think at times I should have not ate my
C-rations,( there was no MRE's in the 60's) while sitting on top of the 50
gallon drums of Agent Orange...probably killed more brain cells than I every
imagined.
Respects to All
