Lost Internet Access

Every so often when I attempt to go on line, the message "server cannot be
found" pops up and of course I am not on line. To get around the problem, I
need to power down my modem, disconnedt my eithernet, power back up and
reconnect the eithernet, then reboot.
My modem is a Westelle {beige} and my provider is bellsouth.net {dsl}..
Any ideas why this is happening..?

Open Device Manager, locate the ethernet card under Network Adapters,
Open it Properties, click the Power or Power Management tab, deselect
"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

I made the correction as you noted, and we shall see if it corrects the
problem..
